Coaches comments

Queen Creek - The Lady Bulldogs managed to find a way to make to the second round of playoffs. The bats were silent going into the eight when the lady bulldogs loaded the bases with zero outs, but failed to score any runs. Going into the ninth, freshman third baseman received a walk and was later followed by Junior Brianna Powell who advanced to first by a walk as well. With one out recorded, Junior Laycee Lock slapped a 2-2 pitch just inside the left field line to score Queen Creek's first two runs of the game. Freshman Pitcher Amanda Baldwin helped herself by sneaking a bunt past the first baseman and scoring an additional run. Dysart didn't end the game quietly, scoring a run in the bottom of the ninth but it wasn't enough to rally against the Bulldogs. Key plays were made by freshman shortstop Raianna Dobbs and senior first baseman Jamie Kottcamp working together to get a double play on a grounder to shortstop and getting the runner at third to end the fourth inning. Freshman third baseman Kelsey Montgomery made a stellar defensive play snagging a ball ending the game for the Lady Bulldogs. This win marks the first time since '91 the Lady Bulldogs are advancing to the second round of playoffs.
